This is an invitation to join me in the Czech Republic next summer in Prague at a brick-manufacturing factory. Workshops will be available, but the main focus will be on the creation of monumental pieces out of brick clay. Some of the work (of your own choosing) can be shown at a gallery connected to the Jan Deyl Music Conservatory for Blind Children in Mala Strana, Prague with the intent to auction this work off for the benefit of the school. You will also be encouraged to produce smaller pieces for yourself, which, of course, you can keep. For examples of work created at the brick factory please refer to recent works in Prague linked from the main page.

Here you may meet and work with other sculptors from all over the world. You will have an opportunity to trade ideas with them and to develop or enhance your own techniques. Language is not a problem: Czech is my native language and I will serve as translator. The program will be offered from April 15th through August 31, 2008, for a minimum one-week session, which you may schedule at any time within that four-month period.

I will take people who come for at least two weeks to Cesky Krumlov, or other places of interest outside of Prague, we can discuss this together at the time.

The cost for a one-week session is (US) $950, including unlimited materials, firing and possible inclusion in a sculpture park on-site, lodging at the brickyard (two to a room, with kitchenette and private bath), plus transportation to and from the Prague Airport. The brickyard accommodations are new and clean and quite comfortable but please be aware that this is a dormitory type accommodation. (and the brick factory is big and dusty and runs 24 hours a day). You will find a link to the factory (TONDACH) on my web-site.

Payment in full is due before March 1st, 2008. Cancellations accepted until May 31st, 2008, and tuition refunded minus a $100 registration fee.

If you are interested in joining me this summer email me at granzstudio@earthlink.net with any questions you may have and to receive your application.

Looking forward to a wonderful working summer in the heart of Europe, I remain,

Sincerely Yours,
